Ill add some photo’s this evening of the roof and hopefully I’ll have the floor done this weekend.

Quick update of the brook during some rain, the video blow was after a fairly average rainfall. This is pretty low compared to the highst I’ve seen it. I’ll try to get some more footage when it’s really heavy but I’m not investing too much time as I’m catering for the common flow with my water wheel not the out of the blue.

That said it’s impotant to keep in mind because I’m pretty sure that with the low level of flow I have a small wheel will be all that’s efficient. With a small wheel the chance of being submerged is higher ad thus in design consideration I am going to make the wheel an enclosed unit with a set inlet gate that will prevent this. I’ll upload either a drawing or 3D render to illustrate this another time.

Project Shed is set to begin soon now that the Kitchen has finally been finished (I’ll post some pictures later).

Every man needs a shed, especially a British man, (if only to escape from the wife!) and it just happens I have the perfect space down the side of my house to build one in.

I’ll update this post later with a view of the space as it stands.

Me & The Old Man will be building the structure mainly from wood. To give you an idea of its intended outcome here’s a 3D Model we generated.

Work to begin in 2 weeks.

I have a little brook at the bottom of the garden and I’ve had big plans for it since we moved in. It’s only tiny really and has little going for it but none the less I’m fascinated.

My ultimate goal for it is to have it power a small water wheel which in turn will drive a generator t charge a pool of batteries. If at that point there is enough power being generated this will then be connected to a timer which will power a lot Watt sump pump from the brook through a irrigation system I will also be fitting.

Here is a Photo and Video of the brook to give you some idea of it’s size and flow. This is at a low point with no rain, when it does rain however (as it does often in England) it gets about 3-4 foot deep and really kicks by. I’ll try to catch some footage when it does.

If the power isn’t sufficient however I will look to subsidise it with either solar or wind or just use it to power a decorative ornament, like a Bamboo Water Wheel or something.

This has fallen incredibly far down the priority list however so don’t expect it to be complete any time soon. On the other hand I will be updating with any info and resources I find a long the way ~ if only for my own future reference

First of all Welcome to Daniel Walker .eu! I recently dcided to refine and consolidate my online persona and all my varying web activities into one lower affordable monthly payment. Hopefully this will allow me to highly interconnect all my services and help you find me around on the web, give you some run downs on my various projects and probably a fair dose of miscellaneous rants laced with phsyco active nutrients.

Thus the aquisition of danielwalker.eu, all the good domains have been taken by the other daniel walkers, my arch rivals- whomever they be.

So yeah, expect this site to slowly fill with suitable madness, a range of s/network widgets, my activities and general randomness

When all is said and done I hope your still smilin, peace.
