Brook During Rain

Quick update of the brook during some rain, the video blow was after a fairly average rainfall. This is pretty low compared to the highst I’ve seen it. I’ll try to get some more footage when it’s really heavy but I’m not investing too much time as I’m catering for the common flow with my water wheel not the out of the blue.

That said it’s impotant to keep in mind because I’m pretty sure that with the low level of flow I have a small wheel will be all that’s efficient. (more…)

Water, Wheels & Dreams

I have a little brook at the bottom of the garden and I’ve had big plans for it since we moved in. It’s only tiny really and has little going for it but none the less I’m fascinated.

My ultimate goal for it is to have it power a small water wheel which in turn will drive a generator t charge a pool of batteries. If at that point there is enough power being generated this will then be connected (more…)
